AI doesn't replace. It amplifies.

Everywhere you hear that AI will replace people. Eliminate positions. Make humans obsolete.

That’s not what I observe on the ground.

What I see is an M&E officer in Senegal who used to analyze her data in three weeks and now does it in two days. She wasn’t replaced. She was freed. She spends the time saved where she’s irreplaceable: in the field, with communities, understanding what the numbers don’t say.

AI doesn’t replace competence. It amplifies what you already know how to do.

The real question isn’t “will AI take my job?” It’s: “will I use AI to become 10 times more effective at what I already do well?”
